The only airport in the world crossed by train tracks is in New Zealand. The shared space, where railway tracks cut across the runway, is Gisborne Airport, operated by the Eastland Group. The line hasn’t been working regularly since 2012, but occasionally – between six and 12 times a year– a refurbished vintage train uses the line for excursions.
